Professional Information
Ann Marie D'Amico, RN, IBCLC
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant
Personal Information
I have been married 20 years and have three children. I am very fortunate to have support from my husband and
my children while I maintain a fulltime schedule as a practicing registered nurse, homecare nurse, and private duty nurse.
My education in breastfeeding is ongoing. As new information becomes available
through research, clinical studies, seminars, and workshops, I utilize the newest
techniques with my patients.
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who concentrates on early intervention in recognizing problems and concerns of the early discharged mother and her baby.
Having worked on a postpartum unit for 19 years, I have extensive experience in the physical and emotional status of
mothers, and have assisted many moms who are struggling to successfully
breastfeed.
Without the support of a lactation consultant, the chances of a mother
continuing with nursing decrease. Obtaining positive results with all my patients gives me a great sense of satisfaction.
Seeing an overwhelmed mother become calm and confident because of the help given to her,
and seeing a smile on her face and the contentment of the baby is, to me, the most rewarding aspect of being a lactation consultant.
